Data You Give Us Directly
Search queries. When you enter a name, a ticket number, or a date of birth into one of the search tools on this site, that entry passes straight to the outside company that runs the search. The provider processes the request and returns results. We do not keep or log the terms you type.
Messages. If you email us, we retain the message so we can answer it. Your note stays with our team, and we do not pass it to anyone outside the organization unless the law requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page loads, our servers record routine technical details about the visit:
- The IP address your device is using
- Your browser and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- Which pages you opened and how long you stayed
- The site that referred you, when there is one
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and analytics. This site uses cookies, which are small files stored on your device that show how visitors move through the pages and which topics draw the most attention. Analytics services gather that traffic data in aggregate. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some parts of the site may behave differently if you do.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site online, fast, and stable
- Passing your search request to the correct partner service
- Learning which pages readers find useful and which need work
- Finding and repairing technical problems
- Showing advertising that may match your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, build, compile, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant records. We publish general guidance about where Ottawa County warrant records are held and how to reach the courts, the clerk, and the Sheriff records staff who keep them. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we collect about visitors is assembled into consumer reports or files about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
The search boxes on this site belong to outside companies. Anything you submit there is handled under that company's privacy policy rather than this one. Those partners decide how long they keep data and who they share it with, and we have no control over either. Read the partner's policy before you run a search.
Links to Other Websites
Pages here link to court portals, county offices, state resources, legal aid groups, and third-party search services. Following one of those links takes you off this site, and the destination's privacy policy governs from that point. Read it before you share personal details. Some advertising partners may track activity across sites to target ads, and that tracking runs on their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information can reach the following parties:
- Search partners that handle queries you run from this site
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place ads on these pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We follow standard security practices for the data we collect. No site connected to the internet can promise perfect protection, so we do what we can to keep information safe without claiming that a breach is impossible.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent data to us, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where you live, Michigan privacy and consumer-protection law, including the Michigan Identity Theft Protection Act, may give you extra rights over your information. At a minimum, you can:
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this privacy policy as the site changes. When we do, the new version appears on this page with a fresh effective date. Check back if you want to follow how visitor information is handled.
