Why We Built This Site
Michigan gives the public access to a good deal of court information, and the difficulty is rarely access itself. The difficulty is knowing which counter holds the file. A warrant is not stored in one place. The court that issues it sets the charge and the terms of release, while law enforcement serves the process and reports back. A bench warrant from a missed court date stays with the court that set the case. Support enforcement runs through the Friend of the Court at the Family Justice Center, and a felony can move from the District Court to the Circuit Court after a preliminary examination.
On top of that, Michigan leaves warrants with the issuing agency rather than gathering them into one public index. A resident can check a sheriff's website, find nothing, and conclude, wrongly, that no warrant exists. That is the gap this site addresses. Each page here names the office, the phone number, the search tool, and the request step for a type of case, so a reader starts in the right place instead of guessing.
What You Will Find Here
- Warrant lookups: how a warrant search works across the state case search, the ticket lookup, and the court counters that confirm status
- Outstanding warrants: how to read active warrants when no county roster exists
- Missed court dates: how bench warrants arise and which court recalls one
- Charge-based warrants: how arrest warrants are issued and served in Ottawa County
- Resolving a warrant: the steps that close a case, including a voluntary appearance, bond, and asking the court to recall the warrant
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Michigan court, the Ottawa County Sheriff, or any state or county agency. The limits are real:
- We cannot run an official warrant check or say whether a warrant exists for anyone
- We cannot recall, quash, remove, or clear a warrant on any system
- We cannot accept payment or post bond on a case
- We cannot schedule an appearance or arrange a surrender
- We cannot give legal advice or apply a warrant to your situation
- We cannot promise that every phone number, hour, or fee on this site is current today
Only the court that issued the warrant can confirm whether it exists and whether it has been recalled or cleared. Ottawa County court and records counters can confirm the file, and we can point you to them, but the answer comes from them.
Search Partners
Some pages here carry search boxes that outside companies operate. Those providers set their own prices and run their own services. If one of those tools leads to a paid signup, we may receive a referral fee, and that revenue keeps this site free to read. We do not set what those tools cost, we do not control what their results show, and nothing they return counts as an official record check.
